To ensure all attendees have a memorable experience, we want to make everyone aware of the accommodations, features, and services available for everyone while attending SIGCSE TS.

Physical Space

The floor maps for the St. Louis Convention Center are here. More information about the venue is on the venue map, and here are some highlights.

Elevators

  • All levels of the building are reachable by elevator.
  • Although there are three elevators, you are strongly recommended to use the elevator by the front entrance (Washington Avenue). The back elevator will require you to access it through areas of the convention center that will be in use by other events and hence you are likely to get lost.
  • Control call and alarm buttons are accessible to persons in wheelchairs.

Wheelchair and Power Scooter Access

  • The area is wheelchair accessible.
  • All restrooms in the convention center are wheelchair accessible.
  • If you are presenting in a room with a raised stage, wheelchair-accessible ramps will be made available upon request. Contact us at ud@sigcse2026.sigcse.org.
  • On-site wheelchair/scooters are not available for rent. But you can rent from this list of local businesses that provide the service.

Induction Loops

No induction loops (hearing loops) are available in the convention center.

Microphones

All speakers have been told to use microphones in all sessions. All session chairs have been asked to use the microphone and ensure all speakers do as well. There are microphones available for questions from the audience. Please help us all by ensuring all speakers use microphones by requesting their use, even if you aren’t the one that requires it.

Restrooms

There are accessible restrooms on all three levels and inside the Exhibit Hall.

  • The restrooms do not have power-assisted or automatic doors. However, the organizers will keep the restroom doors propped open. (Exception: The women’s restroom on Level 2 by the ballroom - plenary location - cannot be propped open.)
  • Almost all restrooms (both men’s and women’s) have either a diaper changing table or a counter that could be used. (Exceptions: The men’s restroom in the Exhibit Hall and the restrooms near room 274.)
  • There are no family restrooms.
  • Several restrooms will be converted to gender-neutral restrooms.

Smoking & Smoking-free Areas

  • The entire conference venue is a no-smoking area.
  • Smoking areas are located outside.

Nursing Space

There is one Mamava suite that can be used for nursing. It is located on Level 1 near the Exhibit Hall and escalators. Details to access the pod are posted on the pod.
Additionally, Room 92 on Level 1 will be designated for nursing.

Quiet Area

Quiet areas are available in the center. Meeting Room 242 (Level 2) is the SIGCSE Technical Symposium’s designated quiet room. It is available throughout the conference.

Sensory Accommodations

Participants are asked to not use flash photography or to wear strong scents. This is to accommodate those who have high sensory sensitivity.

The organizing committee and student volunteers will be taking photographs during the symposium. If you have a sensitivity to flash photography, please email ud@sigcse2026.sigcse.org.

Parking

There is a parking garage at the intersection of Washington Ave and N. 8th St. - this is across from the convention center and across from the Marriott St. Louis Grand hotel. Note this is the closest parking garage to the convention center and will require crossing Washington Ave to get to the convention center. There are additional parking garages around the convention center.

Hotels

All three hotels - Marriott St. Louis Grand, Magnolia Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott - are all within a 1-minute walking distance from the convention center.

  • Courtyard by Marriott is on the same side as the convention center and hence does not require crossing the road. (You could easily access the convention center through the Lennox entrance - side entrance across from the hotel.)
  • Marriott St. Louis Grand and Magnolia Hotel require crossing Washington Ave to access the convention center.

Service Animals

Service animals are allowed. But there is no animal relief area within the building and no dog park or a designated green area attached to the building. However, there are a few green areas around the building that could be used.
