Codio Session: Modernizing the CS Teaching Stack: Transition, Feedback, and Responsible AI Support
This program is tentative and subject to change.
Most CS courses rely on a patchwork of tools: an LMS, GitHub-based assignment workflows, local IDE setups, autograding scripts, container images, and a trail of documents and links. When any one part changes, students notice first: setup friction, inconsistent environments, unclear workflows, delayed feedback, and increased support needs. This session presents a practical, low-disruption approach to migrating assignments, environments, and grading into a unified teaching workflow, including how AI-assisted course creation and migration can accelerate the transition without adding operational complexity. Attendees will leave with a clear view of what consolidation unlocks: faster feedback cycles, fewer setup-related delays and support tickets, and instructor-controlled, governed AI support that helps students progress while preserving academic integrity.
