Name:Ruhma Hashmi
Bio:

I am an Honors Computer Science student at Drexel University with a minor in Artificial Intelligence and Learning. My research focuses on the intersection of generative AI and education, specifically in automating the creation of high-quality formative assessments through Knowledge Graph-based retrieval practice.

Currently, I serve as an Undergraduate Research Developer, leading the technical development of AILA (An Intelligent Lecturing Assistant), a project supported by a Drexel UREP Mini-Grant. My work involves architecting scalable ETL pipelines and designing interactive ‘human-in-the-loop’ systems using Next.js, FastAPI, and LlamaIndex.

My recent scholarly contributions include a preprint on LLM-generated retrieval practice and an accepted conference paper at the 5th Workshop on Knowledge Graphs and Big Data (IEEE Big Data 2025). Beyond research, I am a Drexel Global Scholar and a STEM Scholar with The WICT Network.
