Dr. Vijayalakshmi (Viji) Ramasamy is an internationally recognized scholar, educator, and innovator in the field of computer science, currently serving as Assistant Professor at Georgia Southern University’s Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Anna University and more than 25 years of interdisciplinary academic experience across the United States, Australia, and India, Dr. Ramasamy’s research work leverages large-scale data analytics, artificial intelligence, software engineering, cognitive neuroscience, and STEM education. Her pioneering research, spanning AI, LLMS, graph mining, functional brain network analysis, and AI-enhanced learning environments, has earned her major funding from the National Science Foundation and international recognition, including best paper awards, editorial appointments, and leadership roles in transformative educational initiatives. She has authored over 70 refereed publications in high-impact journals and premier conferences, many of which are at the intersection of machine learning, human cognition, and educational innovation. Beyond her scholarly contributions, Dr. Ramasamy has held key administrative roles, including Chair of Computer Science and Director of the MS in Computer Information Systems program at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where she spearheaded curriculum development, industry-academic collaborations, and inclusive research mentoring.
