CS Transfer Guidelines for Two-Year Programs: A Curricular Model Integrating AI, Cybersecurity, Ethics, and the Profession
The ACM Committee for Computing Education in Community Colleges (CCECC) is developing the Computer Science Transfer for Two-Year Programs – an adaptation of the ACM/IEEE-CS/AAAI CS2023 Curricula designed specifically for two-year programs. Building upon extensive community feedback from the first public review, this second iteration refines the distribution of instructional hours across Knowledge Areas, distinguishes between essential and supplemental competencies, and embeds cross-cutting themes in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Society, Ethics, and the Profession. The proposed model emphasizes curricular alignment, transferability, and adaptability to institutional contexts while maintaining fidelity to CS2023 principles. This poster presents the current status of the model and invites educators to provide input that will guide the final version of the two-year computer science curricular guidelines.
